On the afternoon of May 24th, Vice-Minister Feng Zhenglin, MoC visited DMU. Along with him in the visit are some other leaders from MoC.
President Wang Zuwen and other DMU leaders had a meeting with the guests. On behalf of DMU, President Wang expressed his warmest welcome to the guests, and then made a presentation on DMU’s achievements in the tenth Five-Year Plan on talents training, discipline construction, research projects and international exchange etc. He said that under the leadership of MoC, with the support from provincial and municipal government, DMU has made tremendous achievements, which in turn enhanced the University’s overall capacity. What’s more, on behalf of the University, President Wang extended his gratitude to MoC for its support and attention on DMU’s construction and development.
Vice-Minister Feng Zhenglin pointed out that as a key university under MoC, DMU has been developing fast in talent-team building, teaching and research, international cooperation and campus culture etc, and has educated a great amount of excellent graduates for China’s shipping industry.
He said that the two main responsibilities of a modern university are to educate talents and to generate outcomes. The talent education in DMU will have an influence on the potentials of the shipping industry. He hoped that DMU will generate more academic pioneers in shipping industry and educate more and more qualified talents. Vice-Minister Feng Zhenglin also expressed that MoC will work attentively to transform DMU’s education achievements into the drive for the development of communications industry.
The preparation meeting of Sino-Russia Summer Camp was held afterwards. Leaders from MoC and Vice-President Zheng Shaonan, DMU reported on the ongoing work. Based on the reports, Vice-Minister Feng Zhenglin gave guidance and assignment of the preparation.
