DMU Held the Initial Ceremony for Chinese Higher Maritime Education and Two-Year Countdown to its 100th Anniversary

On the morning of June 10th, DMU held the Initial Ceremony for Chinese Higher Maritime Education and Two-Year Countdown to its 100th Anniversary, which starts the 100th anniversary celebration and unfolds the comprehensive preparatory work.
Former Minister of MoC, Qian Yongchang, Chairman of China Communications and Transportation Association, Fang Jiade, former Vice-Chairman, Secretary of the Secretariat of All China Federation of Trade Unions, Major General Xin Huawen, former Commissar of Naval University of Engineering, Prof. Wang Zhaohe, Secretary-General of DMU, Prof. Wang Zuwen, President of DMU and alumni from various parts of the country and all walks of life attended the ceremony.
Prof. Wang Zuwen delivered the speech of welcome. On behalf of all the faculties and students, he extended his warm welcome and thanks to all the guests. He looked back the one –hundred- year history of Chinese maritime industry. The course of DMU’s development testifies the bitter suffering in Chinese history, the development of Chinese Higher Maritime Education and the revitalization of China. DMU has over the years nurtured numerous successful graduates, many of whom are now playing essential roles in maritime-related industries in China. DMU plays an important role in fostering Chinese shipping industry and makes great contribution to the revitalization of Northeast Industrial Base and construction of the important international shipping center in Northeast Asian.
