
On the afternoon of July 8th, Mr. Saleem Alavi, business development manager of Dubai Maritime City, Mr. D Andreas Nordseth, Director of Danish Maritime Authority, Mr. Norbert Gruenwald, President of Wismar University, Germany and Mr. Yamamoto, Secretary of IAMU visited DMU.

On behalf of DMU, President Wang Zuwen extended his warmest welcome to the guests. The guests were impressed by DMU’s achievements, and expressed their cooperation intention. The guests spoke highly of DMU’s internationalization concept. They pointed out that world shipping industry calls for the exchange of knowledge and experience. As members of the industry, maritime education institutions, maritime administrations, and also shipping enterprises should learn from each other by exchanging ideas and experience.
President Wang Zuwen also introduced to the guests DMU’s achievements and ongoing work in international cooperation and exchange. The guests gave positive comments on DMU’s attentive efforts in the teaching programs of English, which is the common language in world shipping industry. The guests also pointed out that more seafarers for liquefied natural gas carriers are needed because of the human resource shortage in the field. Cooperation with enterprises is encouraged to seek for financial support for related researches.
