Deputy Director-General Li Zuping and DMU Delegates Visited Dares Salaam Maritime Institute

Being invited by the Principal Thomas Mayagilo, Dares Salaam Maritime Institute, Deputy Director-General Li Zuping, Science & Technology Department of MoC and Vice-President Sun Yuqing, DMU and other DMU delegates visited Tanzania. The delegates visited many offices, such as the Ministry of Infrastructure, Tanzania Classification Society and so on.

Mr. Chenge, Minister of the Ministry of Infrastructure, had a meeting with the delegates. On behalf of Tanzania Government, Minister Chenge extended his warmest welcome to the guests and his gratitude for China’s support and help in the past decades. Vice Director-General Li Zuping reviewed the long-existing diplomatic relations between China and Tanzania. She said that she was extremely delightful to find out the Tanzanian students who used to study at DMU are now taking important positions in Tanzanian shipping industry. Vice Director-General Li said that the potential cooperation between DMU and Dares Salaam Maritime Institute will further enhance the communication between the shipping industries of the two nations, continue the existing friendship between the two peoples, and push forward the overall development of the two countries.

The delegates had several discussions with the leaders from Dares Salaam Maritime Institute and reached understanding memo regarding student and faculty exchange, research collaboration, and curriculum design. On September 10th, Vice-president Sun Yuqing, DMU and Principal Mayagilo, Dares Salaam Maritime Institute signed the cooperation memo.
