　　第157期（2013年第40期）“海大青年学术沙龙”由航海学院举办，沙龙的议题为“Recent Development in Marine and Offshore Hydrodynamics”。
　　本次学术沙龙由“航海学院”举办，主讲人是加拿大纽芬兰纪念大学工程系邱巍教授，本次沙龙活动主题为“Recent Development in Marine and Offshore Hydrodynamics”，邱巍教授此次将介绍他所带来的团队的一系列最新研究成果及计算海洋流体力学的最新发展。欢迎相关领域的老师及研究生准时参加。
　　报告摘要： Dr. Qiu will introduce the ocean and naval architectural engineering program at Memorial University. His presentation will also cover the recent research results by his group on ship/platform motions in waves, CFD simulation of highly nonlinear phenomenon, mooring line dynamics and VIV, ship hull form optimization, hydrodynamics aspects of oil skimming, as well as ship maneuvering and dynamic positioning in ice.
　　邱巍教授简介：Dr. Wei Qiu is a Professor of Ocean and Naval Architectural Engineering and the Director of Ocean Engineering Research Centre at Memorial University. He specializes in solving fluid-structure interaction problems using experimental and numerical methods including CFD and potential-flow-based methods. Dr. Qiu has been serving as Chair of the ITTC Ocean Engineering Committee. He also serves as Associate Editor of ASME Journal of Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering. Dr. Qiu is involved in several professional associations including the Royal Institution of Naval Architects and the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME). He had been the Vice-Chair and Chair of the SNAME Canadian Atlantic Section and the Advisor to the Canadian Atlantic Student Section. He is also the Chair of the 34th International Conference on Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering (OMAE), 2015.
